Forum rules regarding asking for advice and explanations about LSAT PrepTest questions:

Previously administered LSAT PrepTests and the associated questions are the intellectual property of and copyrighted by LSAC.

It is NOT acceptable to post the text of LSAT questions when asking for advice and explanations about them and the answer choices since that would constitute copyright infringement of the LSAC LSAT PrepTest materials.

However, this board is meant to be a free public forum for students preparing to take the LSAT to collaborate with each other, share their experiences, seek and share advice, ask for explanations about specific questions, get advice from the resident experts and ask about LSAT preparation methods and strategies.

It is allowed and encouraged to ask for explanations and have discussions about specific questions as well as preparation methods.

When asking for explanations and guidance about specific LSAT questions the proper and acceptable way is to cite the PrepTest, section and question number(s) you are asking about, preferably in the thread/post title and also at the beginning of the body in your post.

Examples of acceptable ways to cite problems for clarity to other users so they can find it in their materials:

For Logical Reasoning questions:

PrepTest 20 Section #4, LR, Question #19, the one about mail
PrepTest 20 Second LR section, Question #19, the one about mail
PT #20 Section #4, LR, Question #19, the one about mail
PT #20 Second LR section, Question #19, the one about mail
October 1996 Section 4, LR, Question #19, the one about mail
October 1996 Second LR section, Question #19, the one about mail

For Logic Games:

PrepTest 20 LG #2 about library budget committee
PT# 20 LG #2 about library budget committee
October 1996 LG #2 - library budget committee
October 1996 Logic Game #2 - library budget committee

For Reading Comprehension:

PrepTest 20 RC passage #1 about Miles Davis
PT# 20 RC passage #1 about Miles Davis
October 1996 RC first passage - Miles Davis
October 1996 RC, passage #1 - Miles Davis

Please use the PrepTest Index as a guide to properly reference previously administered LSAT tests in posts:  http://www.lsatdiscussion.com/index.php/topic,17.0.html

Other similar variations of the above examples are also acceptable, just make sure the reference is clear enough for others to find it in the materials they are using.

It is assumed that users have legitimately licensed copies of authentic LSAT materials in some form.  Pretty much all legitimate LSAT prep books, sources and materials reference each reproduced authentic LSAT item in one of those ways or in a similar way.

Attempts to post or trade pirated copyright protected materials on the board will not be tolerated and will cause the user to be banned.

Additional Rules:

Discussing the content of an administered LSAT before it has been disclosed by LSAC is strictly prohibited.

This means that after a test administration and before scores have been released for it and the test form has been disclosed, trying to discuss and reconstruct the contents of the test (Unreleased LSAT Content) in what is typically called a Post Mortem is forbidden.
