If you're taking the February LSAT and haven't registered for it yet, go to www.lsac.org right now and get it done. Although you can still register for the test through 1/15/10, you'll be charged an additional $66 late fee after today (and the LSAT is bad enough without having to pay an extra $66 to take it). In addition, the longer you wait to register, the more likely you are to not get the testing center of your choice.

Go to www.lsac.org, look under "The LSAT" (located on the right of the screen), and click on "Register for the LSAT." You'll have to create an LSAC account to register online. If you've already created an account, just log on and register, and git 'er dun.

Yes, the late registration deadline is 1/15 for the Feb10 LSAT.

Keep in mind, too, that the "test date change" deadline date (i.e., the latest you can move your test date without it showing up as a cancellation on your LSAT Score Report) for all of these dates is usually the same as the late registration deadline or just 1-2 days after. You have to be vigilant of these deadlines if you want to keep your Score Report nice and clean.

A word of advice to everyone: my friend who just took the LSAT (and scored well) told me to sign up as early as possible, esp for the fall tests because they often run out of seats. If there are no seats, you are forced to take the test miles and miles away. Sometimes hundreds of miles. That would suck!

When you sign up for an LSAT, they will give you a choice of testing centers (in some locations there may only be one in your vicinity; in other, larger metropolitan areas, there may be 5, 10, or 15 nearby testing centers--or even more). The earlier you sign up, the more choice you have, and the closer testing centers will be. If you sign up late, you run the risk of no seats being available in a testing center even remotely near you, and you'll have to drive quite a ways to take the test (and who wants to drive 50 miles before taking the LSAT?).

I've heard of stories where people ended up going much farther than 50 miles. Like 200-300 miles. I wouldn't want to take the LSAT after sleeping in a hotel room the night before.

I've heard those horror stories, too. 50 miles is the "best of the worst" scenario.

No, they won't be full quite yet. You've definitely got time. However, the cardinal rule mentioned by LSAT Eliminator applies even more to the June and October LSATs, since they're the most popular. If you're thinking about taking either of those, registering sooner is key.

Let me add my 2 cents...I didn't sign up early for the Dec 09 LSAT, and nothing within 100 miles of my apartment was available. I ended up going back home to take the test, which sucked because I was totally out of my routine. Plus, the last thing I wanted to hear was my parents giving me advice as I was leaving that morning for the test center. I was nervous enough already and didn't need their BS.
