Sounds strange, I'm sure. Anyone in this boat? I may or may not be; curious for feedback.

I'm not sure why this was moved to the off topic board.

What about being a professor, sports agent, etc.? It seems there a few professions in which a law degree could be helpful, outside of being an attorney.

There definitely are. Just a few I can think of off the top of my head:

Professor
Administrator (typically at a law school, although not necessarily)
Legal librarian (which, surprisingly, pays very well--for some reason I wouldn't have thought so)
In-house counsel (which can be very different from being an actual litigator)
Journalist (in particular covering legal matters)
Lobbyist

And there are, of course, tons of jobs in the government sector that benefit from a law degree but don't necessarily come with the trappings traditionally considered to be part and parcel of being an attorney. There is a LOT you can do with a law degree, and much of it doesn't involve being a "lawyer" at all. Smiley

Sports agent:  Awesome movie - Jerry Maguire

Jerry Maguire - movie - part 1 of 10

Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) - Show me the Money (clean edit)

The best scene.  It makes me get tears in my eyes every time:

Jerry Maguire - you had me at hello

There's a PLI thing on 300 things to do with a law degree.

I actually attended that seminar: Very good stuff. I'll see if I can find the audio and/or handouts and post them on here.
