Hey Gemini - my class has lesson 7 tomorrow night.

I saw your other post too. If this was your first practice test since the class started, I would just chalk it up as a bad day. We're both still only halfway through the class, so there is a lot more to go. If I were you, I might not worry about timed tests this week, and just concentrate on the HW, and really learning the concepts first.

You'll be fine; good luck!

I completely agree - understanding the underlying concepts is the first and most important thing to focus on. GO back and review the lessons/homework, and pay close attention to not only what you missed on the test but WHY you missed it. That's a crucial step and often overlooked by people.

Good luck!

Hey widespread and Gemini, are you guys done with the online class? How did you like it? What is your final review? I was looking into an online class but am still not sure. How did the PowerScore one end up?

Hey Steely - I'm not done yet; we've done 9 of 12 lessons so far. Overall I'm really happy with the course. I had a solid increase in my practice scores after the first few lessons (I didn't do hardly any prep before). Now I think I'm leveling off a little. My first practice score was 148, and lately my scores have been in the hi-150's to lo-160's.

I really like my instructors, which is probably the key to finding a good course. Also, this test is more difficult than most of my undergrad classes where I could still do well just by going to class and listening to the lectures, but not study much outside of class. I've surprised myself with the amount of time and discipline I've put towards it, working on homework, reviewing the lectures, taking practice tests, etc. I think that is crucial.

Thats totally where I need to be...how much work do you a day, as in hours? Do you do a lot? I mean, I have the summer to do the LSAT, but I also want to have a life and not burnout. Abt how many hours do you study after classes?

I study about 2-3 hours per day, aside from my class days, and usually Saturdays.

2-3 hours A DAY and saturdays?? How long on Saturdays? That's almost like a part-time job--do you work, too?

No, sorry...I meant I usually take a break from studying on Saturdays and on my class days. Yeah, I work part-time...only a couple nights a week serving.

Yeah, something like that. Who knows if that is a lot, or a little, or about average?! Maybe I'll ask my class during our next lesson.

So I brought this up in my class last night. My instructor recommended about an hour of outside study time for every hour of class time. Most of my classmates seemed to be doing pretty close to that. I guess I've been doing a little more than most...which is good, I guess...although I've started slacking off a little lately since my class only has 1 lesson per week now.

Okay, that's not too bad. I've been doing studying on my own, but I think I might really need a class to take me to the next level.

Just finished my course last night...it was great. I was starting to get a little burned out last week, so I took a few days off. Now I'm back to feeling good again.
