Anybody watching that new first-year law firm associate show The Deep End? I heard it's about as realistic as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, minus the cool martial arts shenanigans.

I watched it last night. It's like Grey's Anatomy for lawyers. Everybody is hooking up and the legal aspects seem like a sideline to the personal foibles of the cast.

Oh, and it is full of stereotypes, from the Porsche-loving ahole partner to the first year associate with "impulse control" problems.

I'll watch again, but I hope it gets better. Otherwise, goodbye!

I saw it, but it wasn't that interesting. The message was that first year associates will be worked to death but they will really love it  Evil

Oh, and that if you are an attorney, all the secretaries and paralegals want to f*ck you, and will.

Bring back Boston Legal!!!

Oh boy with that message and everything else. Never seen the show.  I stopped watching TV much a while ago. But it is true that 1st year associates are worked pretty hard.  The summer internships before are a different story.  That time is mostly going to nice lunches and dinners getting wined and dined very well.

Flashback from the past:  my property law LS proff during 1L (who later was the interim dean of USC LS for about a year) spent most lecture time in property class talking about recent episodes of Ally McBeal while it was a current show.  That's what I got for class lecture.  I enjoyed it, we had lecture on Tuesday and later in the week, the show was on Monday nights so it worked out well.  We got over 3/4's of lecture time hearing about the show with him joking around about the drama in it and then, when we were lucky, like 10 minutes at the end of lecture where he would run through some law really fast.
