Let's try this again.

Still reading Extreme Physics on my end.

Jeff - You are right. I will need to read it a few times before it sinks in.

Oh, no! What happened to the last "What are you reading thread?"

And I'm still slogging through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Just cannot get into that book.

I'm reading this and thinking about browsing a magazine later about the local area I grabbed at a sandwich shop I walked to for lunch once the pouring rain stopped for a while.   It's been raining cats and dogs where I am and is supposed to for the whole week.    No!

I just read "Growing Up Dead" about this dude that was a Deadhead in the late 80's and early 90's. Pretty funny stuff and a really easy read. Cool to get the hardcore fan perspective rather than just the history of the band (like most of the other books on the subject). Probably wouldn't be of interest to anyone that is not a fan of the Grateful Dead.

I'll have to check that out.  I went to almost every Grateful Dead show in my area from High School until the demise of Jerry.  The pre-show all day parking lot festivals were tons of fun with all the food and stuff available.  I still have a few cool tie dye shirts in the closet I bought at the shows.  The food people were cooking up and selling cheap was amazing.  Best falafel I've ever had was from some lady in the parking lot cooking them up outside her and her dudes RV.

The most amazing part of their shows for me was the long drum solo:

Part 1:
Grateful Dead - Drums/Space (1990-12-28) pt. 1 of 2

Part 2:
Grateful Dead - Drums/Space (1990-12-28) pt. 2 of 2

Waiting for Delivering Happiness, Tony Hsieh's new book to come out. I've heard it is supposed to be pretty good.

Good stuff, Jeffort! I never got to see Jerry, but have seen the various reincarnations a few times. Drumz/Space is kinda cool when you're there (or sometimes just a good beer/bathroom break), but def. gets skipped on CD...I'm more into the guitars. As you can probably tell by my name on here, I'm a big fan of Widespread Panic. They do some pretty sick percussion solos too.

Check out the book, you'd get a kick out of it!

Will do.

Another classic must read is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson.  It's a wild read.  The movie rendition with Johnny Depp is excellent and super funny.
