I'm a second semester sophomore and I've been told that the PowerScore Bibles are a great way to start preparing for the LSATs...is this true?
Also, what is the difference between the PowerScore Bibles and the PowerScore Workbooks? Would it be okay to buy the workbooks rather than the Bibles, or is one better than the  other?
Thanks!

Those books are widely considered the best LSAT prep books on the market, so they are the right place to start.

The Bibles and the Workbooks are different, and you have to start with the Bibles. As I understand it, the Bibles lay out the PS strategies and methods and show you how they work, and the Workbooks then give you practice with those strategies. So having the Workbooks without reading the Bibles would defeat the purpose.

Does that help?

I Agree

Also, Ashley is totally right. The Bibles lay out the concepts and foundations, and the Workbooks are what you use to practice those concepts and foundations. You need to go through the Bibles first.

Check out their website, they have more info on the Bibles and Workbooks in the description of each: http://powerscore.com/content_publications.cfm

thanks for the helpful replies!
some more quick questions though, is there one must-have power score bible you would suggest to begin preparing?
are some bibles/workbooks more necessary or not needed than others, or is that more subjective?
how are the other test books (kaplan, etc)?

The one I always heard people talk about being an absolute must is the logic games bible. The logical reasoning bible gets rave reviews too.

The Logic Games one and the Logical Reasoning one are the must-haves. Get the Reading Comp one if you struggle in that section. Same thing for the Workbooks.

In my experience, no other books out there are even close. Start with the Bibles, and worry about the other stuff only if you feel the need.

Logical Reasoning is half the test, so it may make sense to start with that. Although a lot of people feel that Logic Games are more difficult, so that one could make sense too.

Hi all,

Do they have real LSAT questions for practice or they make their own questions?

They're one of the companies pretty widely known for using real questions. I know the LSAT bibles all use real questions fwiw.

After you work through the PowerScore bibles you should get some of the 10 actual test series and see how you do. Be sure to do take the tests under timed conditions.
