I took the lsat practice completely cold today--got 154.  How many of you took lsat prep and saw significant change from your first test?  thanks very much.

First off, congrats for beating the national median on your first try. As for improving, most everyone sees improvement if they study (in a class, or with a self-study program). Don't sweat it. If you look at various claims out there, the standard increase for a course is 10-14 points. Before you plunk down some moola, try buying a book (I like ours  Headbang), and see what you can do on your own. If you know you need a class to motivate you and make you do the deep work that is required to make a real serious increase, go for it.

Good luck!

I did one timed test cold before I started studying and scored 160.  I didn't take any professional study courses and I probably didn't spend nearly as many hours working on it as I should have.  I spent about 80% of my study effort on logic games since that was the section on which I did most poorly.  Then when I tested in December, my actual score was.... 160.
