Deadlines in Feb/March and Feb LSAT

If a school has a deadline before the Feb scores are out (I'm thinking of retaking in Feb), do they still take your application, or do they not take it because it would be late because of when the Feb scores come out?

It depends on the school and if you have a reportable score already.

You said you're thinking of retaking in Feb. Does that mean you have a score for an LSAT already? Did you take it in in December? If so, as long as you didn't cancel it, you should be okay to send in your applications and have them be considered, since they'll technically be completed. Just make sure that you tell your schools that you're planning on retaking the test in February, so that they know to wait for your updated score.

So they'll take your app even tho your having a new score come in? isn't that a little like cheating the system?

I took it in Dec but thought it was really hard but didn't cancel. I am waiting to see waht my score is. If it's bad, then I will take Feb, if not I'll just stay with what I've got. So I should send in my apps without my Feb score, and just let them know that a new score might be coming?

If you're not yet sure that you're taking the February LSAT, I would wait until you get your score and decide if you're retaking to send in your apps. Otherwise, you might be sending confusing signals to the schools, telling them about something that may or may not be coming, which can in turn delay the evaluation of your apps. See what your December LSAT score is, decide if you're taking the February one, and then send in your apps (and, if applicable, tell schools that a February score is also forthcoming).

It's not really cheating the system. Your app will make it on time, but won't be evaluated until your new score is in.
Technically
, you don't gain much of an advantage, since schools will hold off to read your app until the February score is in. All you're avoiding is having them tell you that they can't accept your app because you're submitting it after the deadline.
