Ok, as entertaining it is to make fun of snuggies and such, I must admit that I'm getting really tempted to buy one, especially since winter is coming and it seems like it would be cool to be able to wander around the house doing things while nice and warm looking like a druid.
I did some research and am undecided.
Should I go with a Snuggie or a Slanket?
Apparently the Slanket is the original that came out a few years before the Snuggie, giving it originality points.
However, the Snuggie took the world by storm by capitalizing on cheap available TV commercial air time at the time cuz a bunch of major advertisers cut back their ad budgets due to the economy tanking, hence everyone in the world with a TV has seen Snuggie commercials many times, giving it points for crafty opportunistic marketing.
The brand name makes the Snuggie more cool and all cuz it's more recognized (when friends come over and you are wearing one when you let them in are you going to try and correct them when they say 'nice Snuggie' but you are actually wearing a Slanket?)
I get the allure of the brand name Snuggie but reports say that it gets messed up and clumps and whatever else after getting washed several times. That could be a deal breaker, if I'm going to be wearing this thing around the house a lot doing whatever, it is going to need fairly frequent trips to the laundry machine to keep it stain free and smelling good. It seems the Slanket weathers the washing machine better but nothing says for how many washes.
So, I'm up in the air, Snuggie or Slanket?
