I was looking on some of these apps and they require that a resume be included with the materials. I'm assuming that this is not the same king of resume as a work one but I could be wrong. What are you guys including in yours?

There's a good thread that talks about what to include here: http://www.lsatdiscussion.com/index.php/topic,354.0.html

Also, check out these sample résumés from Harvard Law: http://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective/jd/apply/the-application-process/resources.html (scroll down to the "Resumé" section and click on the links).

Both of those combined should give you a really solid idea of what (and what NOT) to include.

So is there a preferred formatting? Are bullets the way to go, or lists? I'm trying to figure how to do this the best, because I don't really have a very impressive resume so at least I want it to look really good.

There isn't really a "preferred" formatting. Bullets are fine, as are lists. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that it should be concise (no 5-page CVs--stick to a 1- to 2-page limit), and easy to read (which by default is typically a bulleted list that is left-justified). You'll notice those two traits are in all three Harvard sample résumés.
