Are there any free LSAT practice tests out there? I am just getting started and I would love to look at an actual LSAT.

Thanks!

Hey Frank, here are a couple tests that you can take a look at: http://www.lsatdiscussion.com/index.php/topic,798.0.html

You bet. Here are two free ones:

  The October 1996 LSAT (PrepTest 20): http://www.lsac.org/pdfs/test.pdf

The June 2007 LSAT (Not released as a PrepTest): http://www.lsac.org/LSAT/lsat-prep-materials.asp

I took both of those over the weekend -- crap, they're HARD! Any idea of they rank on the level of difficulty?

I think you will find that all LSATs are hard, and that these are pretty typical. I definitely do not think of them as among the hardest LSATs out there.

Sorry Sad

Treetop - I think LSAT Eliminator is right: those tests, while certainly no picnic, aren't typically considered "killer" exams. Of course, that's all relative to the fact that the LSAT in general is a VERY challenging test....but considering the past fifteen or so years of LSATs those two definitely don't stand out as particularly tough.

Since this comment would be pretty useless if I simply echoed a previous post, let me toss in a bit of advice as well. If you're looking to get your hands on a few more practice tests and you plan on going with a self-study route, try to track down LSATs sold by reputable companies that are accompanied by full explanations of the test content. I'll leave my biases out of this and let you decide (perhaps with the input of others on this board) which one(s) to purchase, but I think that a significant amount of the difficulty you're having with the test would be resolved to some degree if you could follow up your test experience with comprehensive breakdowns of what you're doing right and wrong. From there you'll get a much better sense of your specific areas of weakness and can make a more informed decision about how to move forward with your preparation (continue with self-study, buy books, take a course, etc.).

Good luck!

I hope those are links to free tests, otherwise unless you have a license you are running a risk distributing electronic LSATs. Please clarify if you don't mind.

Thanks!

I looked and only found a public link on the blog to the free June 2007 exam.  I really hope, for his sake, that he is not offering to privately email or otherwise distribute free digital copies of copyright protected LSAT materials.

Surreylsattutor,

Welcome!  I'm always happy when somebody that has insight about prepping for the LSAT joins in and is willing to freely share advice and insight with others.   Smiley

However, in case you are a relatively new LSAT teacher/tutor or new to doing it online I'll give you some important pointers that may prevent you from getting yourself into trouble (or banned from this board).  It is not acceptable to distribute or offer to distribute unlicensed copies of LSAT PrepTests/LSAT content to people for free unless you have an agreement with LSAC and pay them licensing fees to do so.  Around here we are very strict about those rules and enforce them.

If you want to join in more to chit chat, provide advice, information, guidance, analysis, etc. please do so but first read the board rules about discussing LSAT content:  http://www.lsatdiscussion.com/index.php/topic,15.0.html
I don't think you or I or anyone else wants to end up getting emails from LSAC test security people about internet posts that violate their legal rights.

Thanx!
