hi all, for the people who are not good at reading comprehension part, do you think which companies/ online courses will help you a lot although I know thats the hardest part to improve.
I have heard testmasters is really good at LR. So any one has a good reputation for RC? Or you think I should save my money and study by myself?

Thank you!

"Post for a friend"... Huh? Does your friend not have the internet?
 PC trouble

J/K...I don't really know the answer to your question, but there is a RC Bible which everyone seems to agree is good.

Some companies have books you can purchase, and you don't need to register for classes in order to buy them. Think, for example, of the Kaplan, Princeton Review, or PowerScore books. You can purchase those through a number of online retailers or through the companies' own websites, without ever having to register for a class. If you're deciding which company you'd like to sign up with for your LSAT prep, buying one of their books is a good way to get an idea of how they present their material, and see if their methods are a good fit for you.

Blueprint supposedly has a good way of addressing the RC.  But really what you should do is do a ton of them, and start reading heavy articles (law review articles/economist/philosophy books) to get used to dense materials.

Have you looked at the Powerscore RC Bible? They have a whole book dedicated to RC. I haven't heard of anyone specifically that just rocks at RC, but I'm thinking that if you wrote a whole book about it and it's gotten good reviews, you could try to get a cheap copy somewhere and try it out.

FWIW I agree with the posts above. I always try to encourage people to check out publications offered by various companies before investing $1000+ in a course. That way you can really get a feel for how their methodologies work and how well their presentation of strategies will suit your learning style, and make a more informed decision about which course to take (if you find you still need one) on a minimal investment.

That said, the RC Bible from Powerscore is the book I hear about most often from people, and it seems to get solid reviews. Maybe check that out to see if you their approach would work for you (or your friend) before getting into a class.

Good luck!

The powerscore RC bible is one of the best RC books out there.

That being said, its pretty mediocre.  There just aren't that many good RC publications that exist.

Is that because RC is hard to teach? As in, it's more straight-forward and there aren't tricks, diagrams, set-ups, etc?

RC is less defined than games or reasoning. So much of RC depends on your native reading ability that help in this area is more difficult to provide than in games, where most people have never seen anything like it.

A lot of RC strategies are based around looking at passage structure and understanding what they are going to ask you. Those are helpful for sure, but there aren't as many big lightbulb moments in RC compared to the other sections. That's why you often hear people say that your RC score is the hardest to improve, and that test prep strategies aren't as good for these sections.

Yeah, you'll have to ace everything to get a score in the 98-99th percentile. No two ways about it. What are you doing to prep for it?
